Applications open for diabetes ’Dragons’ Den’ funding scheme

Junior doctors and consultants wanting to carry out innovative research can now apply for funding through a new Dragons Den inspired scheme.

The Association for British Clinical Diabetologists (ABCD) has launched a new funding scheme – the ‘Diabetes Dragons’ Den’.

According to the criteria, the applicant will usually have a clinical post in the UK and the research will take place at a British institution.

To be successful, the applicant will also have to be five years post Certificate of Completion of Training and without previous grant funding.

This competition aims to provide a route for supporting clinically relevant innovative projects in the area of diabetes care.

Stage one of the application process closes on Wednesday, November 1.
