Hypo safety campaign rolled out across UK and Ireland

Hundreds of healthcare sites across the UK and Ireland took part in Hypo Awareness Week.

The annual campaign gives healthcare professionals and the diabetes community the opportunity to discuss hypoglycaemia in hospitals and primary care settings. This year, it took place between October 7 and 13.

Hypo Awareness Week was first staged locally in Portsmouth hospitals in April 2012 before being rolled out nationally by NHS Diabetes in the following August.

Hospitals and primary care organisations registered prior to the event and were sent a link to an electronic pack of materials.

A printed resource pack was issued to those who wanted them, which included posters, stickers, t-shirts and pens.
