National awards return to recognise UK’s diabetes nursing heroes
The UK’s diabetes nursing heroes are set to be celebrated as entries open for the 2025 Diabetes Nursing Awards.
Organised by Orange Juice Communications, a leader in healthcare communications, events, and education, the Diabetes Nursing Awards aims to honour the exceptional contributions of nurses working in diabetes care.
Callum Metcalfe-O’Shea, 2024 winner of Primary Care Nurse of the Year and UK Professional Lead for Long Term Conditions at the Royal College of Nursing, said: "Winning this award highlighted how dedication and passion in diabetes nursing can be recognised on a national scale. It meant so much to me personally and underscores the importance of this field in nursing."
The awards not only recognise excellence but also provide a platform for nurses to share best practices and drive innovation in diabetes care and education.
Emily Mayhew, Campaigns and Events Manager at Orange Juice Communications, said: "Nurses play an indispensable role in supporting people living with diabetes. The Diabetes Nursing Awards shines a light on their remarkable dedication, compassion, and innovation. Our goal is to honour these professionals, enhance their reputations, and foster the advancement of diabetes care."
